WAS-SOLUTION FOR ROPAX SHIP
RoPax ships have two business purposes for ship owners. They carry cargo, mostly on wheels, but they have enough cabins for destination travelers to make tourism a real source of income as well. Depending on the routes served the cabins can be designed for a bed and breakfast type of business, or complete service can be offered on board with tax-free shops and a variety of coffee shops and restaurants.
We suggest that the only reasonable way of making accommodation areas for RoPax ships is with prefabricated cabins, supplied with all furniture and equipment at the factory.
Passenger cabins are an essential part of the business, and therefore the owner and architect need to ensure that all details of the design match the business concept. Mock-up units provide for changes in design ideas before the actual cabin production is started. Mock-up work gives the final control to the company by allowing for advance approval of technical details in a real environment. Experienced ship owners utilize this opportunity very efficiently and can make essential changes during discussions about the mock-up unit.
The crew cabins have different functions. Crew members need a place at work that serves as their home and office. The cabins need to be comfortable, practical and quiet. Both crew cabins and passenger cabins need to be maintenance-friendly.
We design accommodation areas for RoPax ships using cabin modules with toilets. We supply both passenger and crew cabins and we install the cabins on board. We also supply wall and ceiling panels for public spaces. Normally the installation of public spaces is done by other companies providing all the necessary equipment.
