WAS-SOLUTION FOR RORO (CAR CARRIER)
RoRo ships are not designed like other cargo ships. In particular, deep-sea-going car carriers have dramatically different deck house designs.
We believe that all car carriers should be built with modular cabins because of the amount of deck house space available. Deck houses are normally only on two decks, and cabin areas have limited space because of steel bulkheads or pillars.
The furniture details of car carrier cabins are usually very simple. Crew members use the public spaces during their free time, and they use the cabins for sleeping and storing personal belongings. RoRo crew, despite being dedicated seamen, are normally not offered private cabins. The modular cabin concept makes it easy to offer a more comfortable environment for the crew members having to work on board for long periods of time. With this design, all crew quarters can be converted into two-person cabins.
We design and supply cabin modules with toilets for installation on board. We also supply all wall and ceiling panels for public areas. The cabin area is completed at the yard as one empty insulated space for each deck. The deck composition is one continuous area with cable shelves high above the corridor spaces.
Once the designated space is ready, the cabins are lifted on board and then moved to the right location and fixed to the deck. Several cabins can be moved in one hour. After the furnished cabins have been mounted to the deck, all connections to the ship systems are made and corridors are completed.
Our design concept allows for easy inspection by the ship owner. Since cabins are completed before installation, the owner can inspect them at our factory before delivery is made. The deck house can also be inspected. Any deviation in quality is easy to check, because the space is empty before cabin delivery.
Our full-size cabin modules make it possible for the owner to upgrade the accommodation area later should the rules or the use of the vessel change.
